The title of the piece is called “Down Payments”. It’s about the natural features of African Americans that people
love but... they don’t love black people. The features have been highlighted while the eyes or “true identities” have been covered because although the media loves the features... the style... and the culture..those are things highlighted NOT the actual people.

Margaret Stiegler
"I started composing and playing piano 9 months ago because I have music playing in head all the time and felt a strong urge to start composing. I’m now working toward becoming a professional composer. In addition to these pieces I’ve also written a symphony, a string quartet, and a piano sonata."

"My story is.... I’ve been home with my partner and our two ridiculous cats. I’ve been working on a new illustration style as an exploration of a graphic novel concept I’ve been playing around with. Also just nice to make some escape art. With so much incompetence and apathy in our government and society right now, I needed to make something that gave me some peace. Forests have always been centering to me."
